Enso is a Japanese word meaning "circle" and a concept strongly associated with Buddhist Zen.
It symbolizes the Absolute, Satori (Enlightenment), strength, elegance, the Universe (“Universe in a single, perfect stroke”), and the void. In art Enso it is often considered a form of minimalist expressionist art and symbolizes moment when the mind is free that allows the body/spirit to create.Inside the circle is nothingness, inside the circle is the universe, inside the circle is the magic of life and death (Most perfect Zen circle has a beginning and end - transition from life to death).What is inside and what is outside is the same, the idea of separation is an illusion. The Enso, which creates the duality of inside and outside is an illusion, trick of the mind that creates opposites where none in fact exist.
